| Nobody thought to inform me, which I find a bit irritating, so your guess is as good as mine. I have a councillors' update today which says replacement in 'the summer' which is a small advance on 'later this year'. I will endeavour to find out something more precise next week. My understanding is that maintenance was the responsibility of Hounslow Highways (a private company) and I therefore assume that the cost of replacement will fall on them, under the PFI arrangement which is supposed to transfer risk to the private sector. I am also seeking confirmation for that, plus whether we will get any compensation for the long period it has been/will be out of use. However the extremely complicated contract was put together by lawyers for the Department for Transport, LBH and Vinci Ringway many years ago and may not have provisions for this. |
