| Michael just saw your Gunnersbury Park comment. The works on the sports fields and Hub in GP were carried out by Keir construction in a contract with Ealing council. My spies tell me that Keir do high quality work but are sticklers for detail and that may be part of the reason it took so long and was a couple of years late in completion. Thankfully it is finished now. I agree the fences seemed like overkill, and I suspect in part a result of litigation culture (if someone put their foot down a hole during construction there's a fear of a lawsuit) combined in part with protecting the area to allow grass etc to grow. It's one of life's mysteries who fixed the bridge, as LB Hounslow told me it belonged to CRT and Sam told us (and me personally) it didn't. The good fairies perhaps :-) |
