| The Green Dragon Lane restriction has nothing whatever to do with cycling. I quote from a message I received today from someone who lives in one of the Brentford towers: "I’m excited to be able to drive down my road at peak times in less that 45 minutes as it is usually gridlocked and the fumes that we must be breathing in as nobody switches their engines off" The changes to the road network we are making are largely to deter rat running in roads that are designed for people to live on, rather than to provide alternative routes for through traffic when roads designed for through traffic are available. Other changes are to provide space for social distancing. I hope they will also support NHS staff like one of the audiologists at West Middx, who told me she had been knocked off her bike twice cycling from Chiswick to work resulting in her being admitted to hospital herself on one occasion. |
