Personally I don't think Tim's cut and paste actually answers Sarah's question. Nice bit of statistics though. But in the broader picture? Taking the country as a whole entity? Though, I digress. The language service was to pay for teachers to teach children the language of the country the parents of these children had chosen to reside in. I'm a bit old school, though. I thought that to be educated in this country was seen as a priviledge, not a 'right' and it was up to the parents to bring their off-spring to the required standard to allow them to enter school and not expect the school to teach the basics of parental upbringing. |
