| Hi Alan I have some sympathy for you and other users, but when I do get drawn into debates of a political nature I do endeavour to keep it factual and (although I occasionally fail) not personal. Fwiw Dave Hughes is a former Labour councillor who represented Bedfont ward for some years prior to the 2006 local elections. Paul Fisher and I are Independent Community Group (ICG) councillors for Isleworth ward. As far as I know no Conservatives have been involved on this thread, although some Conservative councillors do post on this forum from time to time. Our organisation, the ICG, has no ideological basis but is driven by a desire to empower communities and to minimise the influence of party politics in civic affairs and decision making. We are the junior partner in the coalition which currently manages Hounslow, along with the Conservatives. I think it is fair to say that we are considerably higher up the New Labour hate list than our Conservative coalition partners. Exactly why this should be is something you will need to work out for yourself, and when you do the whole thing will fall instantly into place. |
