I am neither a supporter of Labour, Conservative, Lib dem or any other, but I do applaud some of Brentford's Labour councillors and the independent who have put duty to their residents above party politics. I have to say that the ruling party has only really excelled when it has not put party politics first but the good of the people of the borough. Sadly, it has not happened enough. Hounslow's ruling party needs to be able to represent us more strongly when organisations like the GLA and TfL take too much and fail to deliver (other than the Pravda like 'Londoner' which somehow always gets delivered. The big worry is a Labour group may bow in defference to Ken or Tony's bully boys, purely because they are in the same party. Especially when it comes to developments and transport. Common sense has to prevail even if it is not the party line. |
