James, with all due respect I have read the full text of the report. Although you are correct in saying it does not explicitly endorse the ruling group at Hounslow Council it does predict sweeping Labour losses across the capital yet still believes that Hounslow will remain in Labour hands. It is not a huge assumption to make that some of the resilience of the Labour vote is down to much of the electorate not having a problem with the way the borough has been run over the past four years. This isn't spin but a logical conclusion from having studied the report. If you wish to dismiss it as 'blatant nonsense' why not contact Tony Travers or the London Communications Agency and see if they think that the achievements of the Council over the last four years will do nothing to bolster support for the party on May 4th. |
