There is no such endorsement in the report as James quite rightly points out. The original report does say that allegations of corruption in the borough are likely to play a part in the election a point that both the version on this site and Karen fail to mention. As I understand it the most serious of the corruption allegations relate to the misuse of a Council skip back in the nineties but the fact that the issue was mentioned at all doesn't support Karen's suggestion that the report concludes that it is the quality of Labour's adminstration that is likely to save their bacon for the next four years. Deficiencies in the opposition seem to be the most probable explanation. |
