Andrew, as I said in my original post I still can't fathom your strategy. Neither of the other parties seem to be taking Brentford ward seriously. Why didn't you think that your successes in Isleworth could not be replicated here? If nothing else taking the fight to Labour in wards they might otherwise be comfortable in would require them to divert resources to those wards and weaken their campaign elsewhere. In Hounslow South your by-election performance was credible in isolation but the bigger picture is that it allowed Labour to win a seat they had no right to win. The combined vote of the ICG and Conservatives was over 50% but the split between the two allowed Labour to win with 37% Please don't ask for a round of applause from the rest of us if you come a creditable fourth in the ward and Labour keep control of the borough by one seat which the Conservatives could have won in Hounslow South. |
