Good question. In Brentford there isn't much choice as the opposition seem to have conceded the ward to Labour. In Isleworth the ICG are the only credible opposition and the Conservatives should win Osterley and Spring Grove. Syon is the tricky one. The Isleworth Group did well there last time but the Conservatives will probably be stronger due to new housing, demographic changes etc. and with the Lib Dems only putting up one candidate they should gain votes from them. What none of us know is what deals have been struck before the election. We can guess that the Lib Dems will enter into a coalition with the Tories but if that coalition was to include the ICG as well would they prefer to go into a coalition with Labour instead? Thus it could be that an ICG victory in Syon would let in Labour through the back door! |
