Hmm a few good points. Its seems that 2002 was a bit of an opposition highwater for the Tories across the country but that isn't to say that London does the same thing. I suspect the Tories will perform to a satisfactory level particularly in areas they gained at the general election, so that would mean LBHF, total stranglehold on Wandsworth, gains in Merton, Croydon, Bexley and Enfield. Maybe I'm wrong. I suspect Richmond might be interesting... The Lib Dems should probably do the same in places they have got the foot in the door in London. Lynne Featherstone has performed very well as an MP as has Sarah Teather and they may well influence the relevant boroughs to switch. I think Labour's going to get pummelled in London pretty much universally across the board. My bet is the LBH ends up NOC with Labour as largest party, we're all largely pig sick of the Councillors and the Keens from what I can gather locally... And make no mistake the Ann factor will count against them no matter what this website headline news says. |
