A very good question Emily but MRAG's point is that your question could perhaps have been put to the residents by Thames Water. Thames are always quick to advise that they liaise with residents and take residents concerns seriously when clearly they don't. At least an estimated 17,000 dwellings within 1000 metres of Mogden are thought by experts to be affected by Mogden stench. There are 1000's more further afield. MRAG represent approx 3,500 residents who have signed a complaint petition against Thames Water. MRAG could quite easily have put the question to residents to see how many would prefer the work to be undertaken during school holidays. Thames Water didn't think to ask - they simply act as they will. There is no consultation or liaison. Therefore the question - another blunder on their part or plain arrogance? Whatever the answer, Thames have shown no consideration to residents' concerns. |
