| I completely agree with you Ina that parking fees should be considered in relation to why people are requiring the use of a car park and should be structured differently. I have been in and out of West Middx and the minimum cost is £1.20 - which I have had to feed into the machine even though I have been dropping something off to a patient and have been no longer than 15 minutes on several occasions. *** Somebody did say that there is a season ticket or lesser charge ticket available - but that it isn't publicised? *** Another hospital I have been visiting is free if you are 10 minutes or less which is useful if you have to drop somebody off - the car park machine will let you out with no cost. They do advertise that there is a refund available or reduction in the charge if you are visiting frequently. This hospital also has 4 bays which are there for drop off and pick up with up to a 30 mins stay with no charge before clamping. I have been able to use these to drop off up a person visiting their relative and pick them up again – I park and then take them to the ward or pick them up from the ward as they wouldn’t be able to find their own way to the car park without somebody taking them to and fro. The minimum charge at this hospital after the initial 10 minutes is £2.00! If you are visiting with a child who has a long term health condition can you apply for a disabled badge to park for free? There ought to be a way for the ward to give you a temporary one or pass to do just that. So sorry to hear of the money you have been spending it is quite shocking. |
