| It's not in the council's gift to provide GP services. I'm told that specific provision was made for a GP surgery in the GWQ development but the NHS/GPs did not take it up (at least not yet) - remember that GPs are private contractors. Lack of GP services is not down to any lack of infrastructure, it's down to a lack of GPs willing to set up shop in the infrastructure provided. There are not enough doctors, not enough in training, and anti-immigration rhetoric is reducing the flow of doctors from overseas. |
