| There's probably not a lot of point continuing this discussion, Vanessa. I am not part of any 'cabal' but I listened to passionate arguments on both sides at the IBAF, considered the many mails I had received from both sides, and voted for the trial closure. I may have been wrong, but I reached an independent judgment based on what both council officers and local people were saying and if you were at the IBAF you will know that there as no hiding from the likelihood that traffic problems would get worse, at least in the short term. And re Trafalgar Square, it's you who aren't getting it: there was a lot of talk at the time that this was a lunatic scheme being pushed through by lunatic Ken Livingstone. A few years on, I don't think anybody much thinks it was anything but a great idea. |
