"I tend not to get too closely involved because it's not on my patch and you have 3 councillors in Isleworth and 3 in Syon who are more directly involved. I still get a lot of mail about it and it is balanced about 55/45 with a slight majority of people supporting the closure though it tends to be the same people writing often and I don't put much credence on the 'poll' arrived at this way. There's no doubt that an already congested road has got more congested, but this comes as a surprise to nobody. The question is whether things improve over the coming weeks. Closing the north side of Trafalgar Square was a traffic disaster initially but I don't hear anybody arguing it should be reopened." So what are we supposed to deduce from that gem? 1) You were part of the cabal that voted for this ridiculous closure, so you bear some of the responsibility like it or not. Passing the buck for what was a collective decision is NOT on. 2) Trafalgar Square? So the theory you are putting forward is: if you subject us to this farce for long enough we'll get used to it and belt up will we? You really aren't getting this are you? |
