The other thing Guy is - do you go and look at things for yourself instead of 'listening'? I would think anyone who tried to negotiate driving down from the A4 at Gillette Corner across the Busch Corner junction and thence up the Twickenham Rd. since the potty decision to close Church St. would be forced to the conclusion that the wrong decision had been reached. It is an absolute nightmare and nearly every local resident I've spoken to has said the same, that the council have NOT 'listened'. If you were on receive you had ample opportunity to defer the closure to look again at the implications but no, in spite of a public meeting (not called by Hounslow) that made the position very clear, from a lot of residents from a far wider area, that this was lunacy, off you all went. Councillors in attendance made complete fools of themselves and decided to stick their heads in the sand from then on. I can only conclude that you all have a masochistic streak and you like being incredibly unpopular and called stupid, ridiculous, arrogant, out of touch or any combination thereof. If this were a one off that would be one thing, but it is just the latest in a catalogue of disasters that you have collectively managed to get yourselves involved in, do you never learn? We all have better things to do than fight you, but be in no doubt that's exactly what we will do in the face of your intransigence, citizen engagement? You haven't a bloody clue. |
