Sarah, the regeneration of Brentford High Street might be given a kick-start if Watermans was actually in it. The developers might then sit up and take a bit of notice of the potential small gem that Brentford actually is; its relative tranquility and its unique position on the riverside give it the air almost of a small seaside town, and that could be wonderfully advantageous if developed with care. Speaking of your reference to the present 'joke high street', I can only agree. I find it hard to credit that developers seem willing only to throw up yet more luxury apartment blocks without providing the necessary sub-structure of shops, restaurants and public amenities to support them. As to the present location of Watermans, don't get me started. Litter-blown isolation is far from the worst description I could have made. |
