Robin The first rule with applying for a grant is always, always try. A refusal seldom costs anything. The second is to study the qualification criteria because they will vary from source to source. The Community Cohesion fund is exactly what it says on the tin - the applicant would normally be expected to demonstrate that the use of any grant would in some way improve cohesion within the wider community. As you know I do not buy the argument that funding directed at specific sections of the community is divisive (although in some circumstances it can be of course). If its purpose is to create a more level playing field and iron out disadvantage then to my mind it serves the cohesion agenda. Possibly of course the criteria will have changed under the new administration - Councillor Raj Bath will be the best person to advise on that. Best of luck with it. |
