I have to admit I also agree. What I find particularly disturbing is the rising number of women adopting this mode of dress. Unless we have recently been totally overrun by muslim immigrants (which of course we probably have) I believe any that were here previously have deliberately taken to wearing this garb to make a point and on that basis alone I couldn't agree with Mark more. If you want muslim laws and the muslim way of life and the muslim dress and the muslim idea of human rights and what they should be, please do feel free to follow your heart back to wherever you and/or your family struggled so hard to get away from. I don't have a view on whether or not these women are suppressed, I suspect they frequently are not they are simply point scoring. However, I would not like to have any dealings myself with someone whose face was covered. Also in these days of terrorism, how do you even know if it's a man or a woman under all that stuff. If a man walked into a bank or somewhere with a balaclava on we would assume there was a raid in place - how do banks deal with these veils some of which barely leave slits for the eyes? |
