| Sorry Robin, I just can't agree with you. Keep dragging up our Imperial past is ridiculous, that was the way the world was then and we have - believe it or not - moved on. As I understand it wearing the burka is not a religious requirement and if this is so - why wear it at all? Why not ask yourself how non Muslims view this, I find it very offensive especially when I see a man with a burka clad female wearing jeans and a t-shirt! This item of clothing belongs in the past, with whalebone corsets and bustles. When I have visited a Catholic country I have covered my head and arms before going into a church as a matter of respect, if I was going to Dubai I would be aware that getting p****d outside my hotel was a big no no, and we all know how many people have been prosecuted for 'public displays of affection'. These are not their ways so we respect them, covering women up in dark robes especially in this hot, humid weather is not on, we don't do it so why can't our ways be respcted? |
