| That sounds abysmal. I have no idea whether it is the case but maybe it is left to surgeries as to how they arrange things. My surgery used to have only a certain no. of same day appointments but about a year ago changed to all same day (and face to face) appointments with a few held back in case of something serious. Of course there are a limited no. of slots in the day so if you miss out, bar it being an emergency, you would have to try again the next day. The system run at the moment is, however, seeming to work very well. (The other thing is that, for a time at least and maybe still, you may be put with an Advanced Nurse Practitioner instead of a doctor but that should be okay as people work within their capabilities. I have heard that in my surgery at least mental health concerns are never allotted to an A.P.) |
