| Bob you're either very badly informed or deliberately misleading. I can see my doctors nearly always same day, and they are advertising for additional patients in Brentford, Chiswick and Kew. You can see the qualification rules for council housing on the LBH website - "You must: currently live in Hounslow, have lived in Hounslow continuously for the last five years or for five years out of the last seven years." It was probably one of your supporters who ranted at me that I was going to put illegal immigrants into the private development at Great West House over which I have no jurisdiction or power whatsoever and actually followed me down the road repeating this nonsense. I agree people who don't have English as their native language should learn English asap. Translating for those who needs assistance is not expensive these days. I just translated that into Italian: Oggigiorno, offrire servizi di traduzione a chi ne ha bisogno non č costoso. ANd Hungarian:Manapság nem drága a fordítás azoknak, akiknek segítségre van szükségük.And Hindi: आजकल जिन लोगों को मदद की ज़रूरत है, उनके लिए ट्रांसलेट करना महंगा नहीं है। Children are not held back in the way you allege in any significant way https://www.nuffieldfoundation.org/news/children-whose-second-language-is-english-do-not-have-a-negative-impact-on-education-outcomes-of-native-english-speakers Everybody here has to abide by our laws. That applies to 'these people' whoever they are as it does to everyone else. I agree there is a need for a better system for student costs for doctors (and others) as there used to be before the Thatcher government abolished it and successive governments took degree level education from free (as it atill is for students up to 18) to first Ł1000 pa up to 9000pa and now more than that. Grants were also withdrawn. That certainly needs reform as do a number of other idiocies that have built up over the last 40 years (for example- people who work for a living pay much higher tax than those who live off investments) |
