| The Council are playing Robin Hood in reverse. They are taking away the freedom of movement of the masses to ensure the peace and tranquility of the few. What is almost laughable is the fact that this is being done on the grounds of making the area safer. The sad fact is that people will die to protect and even enhance house prices in Church Street. They are also creating a super highway for criminals, who tend to use motorcycles, which cannot easily be followed by Police cars along pavements. This just shows how out of touch some people really are. There are better, more cost effective means of making the area safer without penalising people who want to get children to school or go to work themselves. Does anyone want to think about them? NO! Why? Because they would rather introduce a divisive physical barrier that potentially affects the livelihoods of some local business people and puts people at risk by elongating routes that emergency vehicles have to take. To think these people were considered worthy of our votes in the not too distant past shames me, some of them will not even answer their e-mails!! |
