There was NO comprehensive consultation on this. I know at least two residents on Park Road who only found out about it AFTER the decision was made. Syon Park was not consulted. None of the businesses on the Estate were consulted either. None of the 30 or so residents on the Syon Park Estate were consulted - and they all live within the so called consultation zone. Most shocking and shameful however was that nobody consulted West Middlesex hospital. I have no doubt that people will die as a result of this decision as Twickenham Road becomes gridlocked. It will cost as all more all routine ambulances transfers etc become slower and more resource is needed. The community nurse who lives on church street doubts she will be able to make all her allotted visits. None of the councillors actually answered any of the actual questions they were asked. we were told that those who actually did receive a consultation document questionnaire did not feel able to respond appropriately because it ncluded 6 options to choose from, all for closure. there was not any other option. compromise was cast aside. this needs a borough wide approach, shutting church street just pushes any problem elsewhere. it does not solve anything. if anything it creates more issues. the whole thing has driven a wedge through the community which is extremely sad |
