| It's 2315 hours and the lorries whose task it is to retarmac Twickenham Road seem to have been told to use the West Middlesex estate as their base of late night operations. Outside our kitchen window one lorry has been bleeping away for over an hour, and now a digger is loading soil into it very loudly. Meanwhile a van load of police officers visiting the estate (!) has just had to mount the pavement in order to get past. Can anybody imagine the outcry if this were to happen in Old Isleworth? Nice to be reminded how highly our "Labour" council values us estate dwellers when it has no immediate need of our votes, isn't it? |
