Well I have discovered that its all a political plot by Labour to keep this Borough looking terrible for as long as they are the under-dog in Council. If the potholes are in roads which fall under Area Committees controlled by the ICG, the order to fill the potholes or resurface the street is duly given. However, if the Street falls within control of a Labour Chaired Area Committee, the idea is to keep the area looking tatty for as long as possible. Labour can then tell the victims / residents / voters that they get what they pay for by having a Tory Administration who has cut costs and cut budgets in order to maintain the zero Council Tax. You thus end up with roads that are half patched, half safe and look ghastly. I wrote to the Labour Chair of Hounslow Central for clarification on the additional costs to do half the job now against doing it properly the first time and, guess what...........silence. No common courtesy. Not even an acknowledgement. |
