My reply to the Council "Dear Mr Foster Thank you for your email which is encouraging. I note your team have marked some potholes in yellow so I assume those to be the one's you are intending to patch as they fall within your intervention criteria. I note that some which are not marked in yellow are located within a few inches of those marked so I would be interested to know how it is costed to ensure best utilisation of funds. e.g.. If there are 18 potholes in a 30 metre stretch and you intend to patch only 10, surely it would be more cost effective to patch the whole lot in one go? I fail to understand the motive for doing half the job when very clearly the unmarked holes will attain your intervention criteria within a few months if not weeks. The cost of sending your contractors out twice or three times, not to mention the traffic disruption is surely not good management and is certainly not cost effective? I note also that you make no apology for advising me on 23 February that the potholes do not exceed your intervention criteria, when clearly they do. I look forward to your reply. KInd regards Steve Taylor" |
