I totally disagree Raymond. Your exact words were "more backhanders without doubt" which, in the direct context of your post, implies that Ballymore have in some way 'rewarded' either the authority or the individual Officer to recommend approval of their application. Think back to the Bercow v McAlpine tweet and precisely what she posted (which was less direct than what you've posted) and the consequences for her of that tweet. You now concede that "you don't know". The simple reality is that you don't fully understand the nuances and intricacies of the planning system. Which is entirely understandable. But ignorance is not a justification or a defence to make such a serious accusation, nor is it any defence to say that you're doing so for the benefit of the community. As I say, if I was the Officer, LBH or Ballymore, I'd be seeking legal advice on the basis of libel. In my experience you'll be fortunate in that local authorities tend to ignore such matters because they're too busy, which helps no-one because it is a failing to protect their employees, tacitly suggests that there's some truth in what you allege and only further reduces the likelihood of the authority seeking to engage/explain itself to the public. If you feel that you're not at risk of legal proceedings by stating what you have on a public forum then you're a braver (there are other words but I'm being kind) man than me. |
