If their place in the hierarchy of the Labour group is more important than the role they were elected to carry out then they're in the wrong job. There should not be any 'party line' on an issue like that, similarly it is not acceptable on planning issues which are quasi legal matters. It's quite simple, are they there to further their own ambition - such as it is - or actually represent the mugs who misguidedly voted for them? Sometimes you have to do what you believe is right regardless of who gets upset. |
