"It is not the Conservative Party's fault that its candidates polled well in Isleworth, Syon and Brentford and will emerge as the main challengers to Labour next time round." There it is, for the world to see. In David's own words. David's bragging, six days after losing the council to Labour, makes it perfectly clear that all the time we were being strung along. The gameplan was to try to remove the ICG from the picture - and this was while we were in coalition! In doing so they lost the borough - which I assume wasn't part of the gameplan but when one is dealing with people like this who really knows? David, if the newly elected councillors have the good sense to embrace the spirit of community that the ICG brought to Isleworth and Syon then I guess you probably will be the main opposition in those wards next time around, in the absence of Community candidates. But you will not win those wards and you will never gain an overall majority on Hounslow Council. Not while I have breath remaining in my body. |
