When people are honest as independent councillors their colleagues know each other's respective positions. Given that the law requires "political groups" to exist if anyone wants to label themselves other than "independent" a wish to work jointly with other independently minded people requires dialogue. This dialogue took place from the inception of the Hounslow Independent Alliance.Peter and Linda, in that ongoing dialogue, indicated that they did not wish to continue in a broad, Hounslow-wide organisation. Their preference to operate solely as a West Area group was made clear and the rest of us respect that. No one was driven away. Clearly the ICG is more of a political party than we set out to be. Hence your emphasis on "leader and follower". This was never the case in our group, and Vanessa therefore is not a "follower" of mine. Unlike you, I have sufficient respect for your colleagues such as Paul Fisher and Jon Hardy not to regard them as your "followers", "disciples" or whatever other term Great Leaders like yourself prefer to call your underlings. |
