I have no objection to a low rise development including social and affordable housing in sympathy with the housing on the other side of Chiswick High Road but monsterous tower blocks containing over 900 luxury apartments are simply not appropriate in this already crowded and unique location. The Council should refuse this application and invite the owner of Brentford FC, Matthew Benham, to submit a new application including a stadium and social and affordable houses and apartment blocks no higher than five storeys high. That would seem to be the sensible thing for a socialist local authority to do. |
