| Economics will ultimately dictate who owns a car. London’s Labour mafia is doing its best to tax the lower income owners off the road. You will note that lambert’s analysis doesn’t include the whacking great ruse in council tax, which includes the precept for the Mayor and £20 per bill for TfL. Throw in all the other charges for parking and the looming ULEZ and it’s clear only the reasonably well off will continue to own a car. Nothing wrong in getting rid of one’s car - although apparently those ‘more equal than others’ like to boast about still owning a car despite rarely using it and despite being entitled to a Freedom Pass and despite declaring that the proles should get rid of theirs. Bizarre behaviour. |
