"All the more reason for the Council to act fast, like immediately, and move a family in there!" Exactly! It was way, way back in February when I drew this vacant property and others in this small area to the attention of the Dear and Glorious Leader and his crony the (totally ineffective) cabinet member for housing at a public meeting and got short shrift, and zero interest. I am sick and tired of the council telling people they cannot be either moved or get a house because they have very few properties when they they let homes sit empty for months and months on end - losing revenue and council tax into the bargain. They leave elderly people in homes too big when they would rather move to sheltered property and the council can't even get a renovation right to facilitate that, and families are stuck in flats when there are family houses left standing empty. It is totally unacceptable and the powers that be need putting on the spot for this failure, there can be no excuses when we have a housing crisis. |
