So - you know that a council house has been empty for eight months. You know that the previous occupant died. You know that it had a stair lift. Is there anything else you would like to tell us - apart from your view that it has not been re-occupied to date? Indeed, are you sure it is a council house? Maybe it's a Housing Association house or some other type of social housing landlord? Are you privy to the landlord? Do you know who the rent is paid to? Do you know if the DWP is involved? Have you ever heard of the Office of the Public Guardian? They may have been involved with this tenant due to lack of capacity and duty of care. It can take many months for a Local Authority to settle the affairs of a tenant when the OPG is involved. All of these potential bodies could impact on the speed or otherwise of the re-occupancy. If you are privy to any of this information, then you are breaching confidentiality, otherwise you are merely hypothesising, and offering a barfly opinion which has no merit whatsoever. Furthermore if you have private information then keep it private. I suggest you consider these possibilities before you make further comment. |
