Just witnessed a poor soul having her car driven in to by a lorry after she'd had to manoeuvre out of an ambulance's way. Traffic was at its (now) usual standstill at Busch Corner. Ambulance desperately trying to get through, no one had any where to go due to blockages all round and on junction. This was the third emergency vehicle I'd had to move out of the way for on this commute alone: once up a curb; once in to a bus lane and this time squeezed to the side of a stationary car (which had edged up the curb in desperation). Surely the response times for our emergency services must reflect this diabolical decision! The increased stress levels and pressure on the poor emergency services people must be unbearable. I cannot even imagine the situation after the proposed new schools and flats have been built. |
