| I can also tell you that last year when we were fighting to stop the Duke of Northumberland from building homes on the allotment site in Park Rd. and his plan to move allotments into Syon Park, a Grade l listed landscape, none of the heritage groups were any use or support whatsoever, apart from Historic Gardens. More often than not you're on your own and you have to rely on the determination and strength of feeling from local people to fight these things. Hardly a level playing field, no wonder these developers get away with murder, and local authorities do not have the resources of money or officers to keep fighting them. |
