S106s are legal agreements and are what a developer settles with the planning authority to pay if they are granted planning permission for a development. Generally they are a sum of money to ameliorate any effects locally as a result of the development, such as a contribution to road works because of extra traffic, or a contribution to education for pressure on local schools, or towards community projects such as St. Johns. That's the theory anyway. |
