| No, that is wrong. They were too optimistic about timescales a year ago but most of the people with experience of planning issues have been excluded from the committee, and those with an understanding of development are not in the relevant positions on the Cabinet and are excluded from any meaningful discussion. AFter a year there is a planning application ready I believe to go to the February meeting. Salman Shaheen has been pushing this and I suppose Tom Bruce has too. It goes without saying that I am, and my scepticism about the timescale and the new proposal are not helping my reputation with the ruling clique. Certainly, the landowner is trying to make it happen but the whole development atmosphere is very challenging (see my post earlier) theough Fairway have made stunning progress on Printmaker Yard and will finish all of it before Ballymore (which had planning approval before I was elected in 2015!) |
