| Waterman's operates as a sort of floating entertainment provider in Hounslow, nothing in Brentford of course. As for the proposals for the police station site I see Cllr Lambert has been bigging himself up in his latest missive. Anyone who has followed this story since the mooted new site was first put forward a decade ago will be surprised that he's now laying all the blame for inaction and expense at the door of his former Labour colleagues. Since he was on the planning committee and in cabinet a proportion of the blame certainly lies with him. But then Guy is electioneering already and busy rewriting history and his part in it! The police station site was never popular with residents as an alternative and the empty promises of a 'world class' venue have proven to be just that. Given that the current proposal is entirely unviable it's unlikely anything will happen there for years, except perhaps the demolition of the old police tower and the growth of yet more weeds on site. |
