If it’s untaxed the DVLA will issue a notice to the owner to remove it from the public highway. If it’s not removed the DVLA will remove it. I have reported untaxed cars a number of times and found DVLA to be very efficient. Normally vehicle is removed after 30 days. However, if the owner sees the notice on the windscreen and elects to pay the Tax, the DVLA will not remove the vehicle.
