Not a lot of people know (though I have been telling them for years!)that textiles and shoes (etc) an be collected with your 'normal' recycling. Just seal them in a plastic bag (wet textiles are unusable) and put them with your recycling. Important you label them so the collectors know what it is. https://www.hounslow.gov.uk/info/20128/your_collections/1600/clothing_textiles_and_shoes_recycling_collections The charity (or sometimes commercial) textile collections are often problematic as they are not emptied as frequently as is needed. |
