The allowance paid when Paul was a member in 2006 was £9763 after they awarded themselves a 2.4% rise (and a rise of 147% for cabinet members). Had we left that alone (rather than cutting it then freezing it) and adjusted for CPI inflation it would now be £13386. The figure of £11045 we've agreed is 17.5% less in real terms than the allowance Paul enjoyed, and it is the allowance recommended by London Councils. |
