Yes I tend to agree with Vanessa and I think it is the same with most public services operating within democracies. In Hounslow in particular, the despotic officers who have dug their heels in on issues which radically affect the communities, have been officers who don't live in the Borough. Councillors have to respect the wish of the community and officers have to act accordingly as long as it is within the law. They can and must offer professional advice but if residents don't wish to accept such advice, officers must concede. |
