| As rumoured before, M&S are now unlikely to be taking the site post Morrisons and the Lidl will only be a West Ealing Sized Lidl which sells a limited range. ( About 40% of the current Morrisons stock range. So far, M&S are not commenting as there is some sort of impasse now that Essential Living has been absorbed by a huge holding developer. A massive con trick that was warned about but as usual unheeded. There is now a huge risk of another Richmond Ice Rink scandal' When developers metamorphosised in a way that undid all the obligations of the original planning application and permissions. There is every chance that the site will be vacated, promptly demolished and then left. In turn facing a panic by the local authority and the 'new' developers being in a position to lodge a new planning application with their agenda calling the shots. The risk will be yet another lump of Brentford being derelict or developed with a wholly unsuitable development which will yet further damage the viability of a cohesive community town. I do hope the councillors and officers have wised up to this and are prepared. |
