Sorry Anthony , but these statements are bogus and argumentative: "so the functioning and remaining canal infrastructure should be ringfenced as should sites like Commerce road because it will sooner or later be needed. It's the same as the football ground, It's been there almost as long as the homes around it, The canal and it's associated industries have been there longer than those around it. If you don't like it or don't want it then you can choose to not live there." There has to be a good reason to turn the clock back a hundred years, you have not provided one. But furthermore, this whole thread is anti a developer building a floating pontoon mooring that his experts and the relevant bodies claim will NOT impede use of the canal at ALL. We all want to see the canal used appropriately. The fanciful hand drawn box images showing half the canal obstructed is bogus also. If you look at the actual plan shown below, you see the actual size of the proposed moorings. I have no interest in posting pages of "persuasive" argument and wonder at the motives of those that do. If there are no properly organised, financed and controlled moorings, then Ferry Quays water edges are likely to turn into the junk heap eye sore that is Waterman s and Lots Ait "moorings" Its as simple as that. |
