Nothing against residential moorings, in places they work very effectively, but one only has to take a wander into Watermans Park to see how, if not managed etc, the riverside becomes home to a motley crew of ramshackle boats, floating portacabins etc, which seriously detract from the visual amenities of the river and its surroundings. Not that I support the fund appeal either - absolute waste of time and money in my view, but I don't pretend to be anywhere near as well informed/historically knowledgeable as Nigel or BCC, so to a fair extent I know my view is pretty much an uninformed one. |
