Anne. This caused much discussion here because I am sure we didn’t have a stop cock in this house when we moved in, 1930’s house. The original lead pipes were controlled by the on street stop cock, which is why we had one of the long handled keys. We did put in our own stopcock when we replaced the piping. There is a stop cock which can go in just inside your house which is like a light switch, and there must be lots of designs around now. That still wouldn’t help with where they would site your water meter though. |
