In Kew 15 years ago we got a water meter installed. Soon afterwards our cellar turned from dry to dank and TW found a leak by the new water meter. It was 1cm outside our property boundary (phew!) so their problem. They lent a de-humidifier and paid for the electricity. In Brentford TW have twice inflicted huge costs on our apartment block by backing up sewage and rainwater into our building, way up from the sewer. All because they prefer scandalous boss pay and huge dividends to investment. The area manager, when they came to break up the huge fatberg outside The Weir the 2nd time (summer 2022) admitted they don't really do preventative maintenance. With The Weir, Jenny's Kebabs and KFC upstream of us on the sewer run, should we feel lucky? I'm sure the flood in our basement the year before was due to the growing but undetected fatberg which diverted raw sewage into our building the next year. Thanks a bunch, fat cats! Apparently if they come and fix things when a problem is finally diagnosed and reported (they did) they are not legally liable. But why don't they just routinely check whether their sewers are clear???
